5th and 6th class learned how to ensure their bikes were safe by carrying out a bike check, ensure the brakes were in working order, and put their cycling skills to the test by competing in a slow bicycle race! They learned how to use hand signals to tell other road users which direction they will be turning, the meaning of different road signs, road markings and tested their knowledge by participating in a quiz! Pupils also learned about cycling on the left hand side of the road and how to overtake obstacles, in addition to learning about the safe stopping distance between bicycles.
